The pineapple is indigenous to South America where it grows abundantly. This large, sweet fruit became a favorite with Spanish conquistadors once they discovered it in Latin America. The Spanish took the fruit with them to other tropical regions, such as Hawaii and Indonesian islands, and started propagating the fruit there. This popular fruit is now commercially harvested in many tropical regions. This pineapple wind chime features a casting of a pineapple for the top support and a casting with the word "Welcome" on the wind sail.
