The gull is a humble sea bird that is common along most any seashore. Occasionally, it ventures inland to forage on insects. Years ago a major crop in Utah was in jeopardy because of the swarms of locusts that were inundating the area. The locusts have a voracious appetite and were destroying almost all vegetation in the area. Just in time, a huge flock of seagulls made their appearance and feasted on the locusts. This saved the crop and earned the seagull forever thanks by local people. We recognize the gull with our seagull wind chime. The chime depicts two gulls standing on piles and a single gull on the sail.
